Playing Chords and Arpeggios in Tablature
Now that we understand the basics of counting, it becomes possible to try out
some variations of chords and arpeggios. Here, for instance, is the waltz time discussed
in Chapter 8:
The best way to see the possibilities is to work on some familiar songs. First,
simply play the chords from the chord symbols while humming or singing the tune.
Then play from the tablature. You will actually find the tablature a little easier,
because you will see that it is often unnecessary to play all the notes of a chord,
and the actual accompaniments are simpler in texture.
