Moving up the Fingerboard
Traditionally easy guitar music has tended to be confined to the first four or
five frets of the guitar. Usually beginners are reticent about learning and reading
the notes in the higher positions.
However, remaining within that five-fret range imposes serious limitations on
your playing and becomes boring after awhile. Learning the notes of the higher frets
opens up a whole variety of more interesting music.
In this site, we have the advantage of tablature as a reminder of where the notes
are at any part of the guitar, so we can proceed up the fingerboard to learn some
interesting pieces that use more of the guitar.
